Ancestor Detector

Today we paid a visit to Great Granddaddy and Great Grandma Pat! They were thrilled to see Ellie and Stella (it was just the girls this time), and Ellie was thrilled to interview Great Granddaddy about his childhood and young adult life for a badge she is working on in her American Heritage Girl Troop (the badge is titled, "Ancestor Detector." We love this organization by the way. If you like the idea of Girl Scouts but don't care for what they have become and what they now stand for, you will probably love American Heritage Girls. They are endorsed by the Boy Scouts and are a Christian based organization for young girls with many badges to be earned, including an Eagle Scout equivalent for girls called Stars and Stripes Award. Ellie recently received her book and decided to get started right away (in usual ambitious Ellie style). Here are a few pics from today and a little history about Great Granddaddy: A photo of Great Granddaddy (now 92) in his early 20s. He was a pilot in World War II.
