Big Swimming Pool

We have a sweet neighbor whose house backs up to ours, and she recently called over the backyard fence to ask us if we'd like her above ground swimming pool.  She had bought it last year and only used it a year, but her son is 18 and no one was getting much use out of it.  Rather than throw it away, she offered it to us.

The kids are thrilled needless to say, and we saved some money this year by using this rather than renewing our Keller Pointe membership :)

I need a break anyway from little daredevil Stella, who was constantly running and diving underwater without a care in the world, while I darted two and fro to catch her and prevent her from drowning.  Something that was supposed to be fun (swimming) ended up being a nightmare for me.  This new 4ft pool, although still a drowning hazard for her, keeps her better contained and saves my sanity.

Not a Baby Anymore

Lately, Stella is determined to do anything the older kids do, and usually when I think that she won't be able to do it, she proves me wrong!  Here is a picture of her swinging on the big kid swing, and she is actually swinging herself (leaning back and forward) like she has seen the older kids do.  I'm amazed at her tenacity.
