Art Lesson

Ok, as many of you probably know, I'm not the most artistic person!  BUT, I still want my kids to learn about art and be able to express themselves artistically, especially since they ARE so artistic.  So, we decided to study various artists and then attempt to create artwork similar to theirs.  The ideas come from a DK book called My Art Book.

Our first artist studied was Archimboldo.  He was an Italian painter known for creating portrait heads made out of objects like fruits, vegetables, leaves, fish, etc.

Here is a picture of his portrait, Vertumnus, made in 1590 with oil paint on a wood panel.

We took some fruits and vegetables and Caden created his own face here:

He had fun doing this!

You can see the face a little better in this picture.
